Welcome to SAPCONE

Sustainable Approaches for Community Empowerment (SAPCONE) is a local Kenyan nongovernmental organization (NGO) that collaborates with nomadic pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. We implement programs in ASAL regions of Kenya and the Omo region in Ethiopia.

SAPCONE was founded in 2006 and registered with the Department of Social Services and Development as a community-based organization with the mandate of spearheading socio-economic, self-reliance as well as transformative sustainable development agenda.

The organization was later registered with the NGO Coordination Board of Kenya in 2014. Additionally, SAPCONE was accredited as a local organisation by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Agency for civil society organisation in 2019.
